5 Red Flags To Be Aware When Ordering Hair From a Vendor

We are discussing some of the red flags you should keep in mind when you are searching for a vendor in this article. And this is specifically for hair business owners. So without further ado, let’s get into it!

- 1 - The first red flag is something you are going to see on your journey of trying to find a hair vendor very often if not nine times out of ten. And that is stolen pictures and videos. Now it's going to be difficult, but you have to distinguish the difference between stolen pictures and pictures that were taken from influencers who promote them for this company. It's not easy to distinguish between the two and figure out what's what is not going to be easy. But there are other characteristics about the company that you're going to pay attention to, that will kind of be context clues. You can tell if you are dealing with a reputable vendor who has quality hair and has good values versus a vendor who is just looking for some coins and ain't willing to scam to get it. So you're going to have to pay attention. It's not easy to pick one apart, you have to be smart about it and not be naive.

- 2 - The next red flag is if you are ordering some hair, please make sure you are sampling hair before you decide it will be your permanent vendor. Please test your hair. And if you are testing some hair, you get some hair in the mail, and it has a very strong smell, even if you wash it, you deep condition it, it's not going anywhere, what that is is chemicals on the hair. If the hair isn't classified as raw, it is a virgin. Raw hair is not processed at all and virgin hair is processed, usually, steam processed. Not chemically processed. But if you are smelling a very strong smell, it has chemicals on the hair. Two things can happen, let's say you confront your vendor, they either confess, admit there are chemicals on the hair for whatever reason they put chemicals on it. Maybe to keep it shiny or maybe to keep it silky. If they confess to doing it and you have the option of ordering your hair without the chemicals. Maybe you can move forward with this vendor and see how the hair quality is once they remove the chemicals. If they lie to you, then do not purchase from them! It's important to know in the hair industry, and it is tough now more than ever to find a vendor that is going to meet all the dots on the board. Find a hair vendor in China that will keep it honest with you, keep it real with you, and tell you and educate you on their process in their country, you have found a winner.

- 3 - The next red flag is something that if you have been on this hair journey a while, you are very familiar with this, and it probably freaks you out already, probably scares you, it makes you nervous and that is a good thing you should be nervous, and that is when a company tells you that they only accept orders via Western Union or Money Gram. Now before you lose your marbles, certain countries don't allow Paypal. For example, Burmese vendor only accepts Western Union, and certain vendors in India will only accept Money Gram. However, if a vendor in China is trying to tell you that they ONLY accept money via Money Gram or Western Union, you are about to get scammed. There's Paypal in China.

- 4 - The next red flag is if a company always has an excuse on why they cannot video chat. The reason why this is so important is for one, you don't want to get scammed. People are extremely naive and very vulnerable right now in the hair industry. It's a very confusing time, a lot of people are not educated on what to look for and what to run away from when they see certain things, from vendors especially. A lot of vendors will let you handpick your bundles if you so choose.

- 5 - Another thing that you probably don't know, that is a lot of vendors can create custom textures. So let's say you see a texture you like, but your vendor doesn't necessarily offer this texture, you can send a picture to your vendor. Because if you are ordering body wave hair or any type of curly hair, anything that isn't straight, is steamed processed, and with chemically processed, they are two different processes. If your vendor processes hair with steam, they can create new textures for you, so you can have a texture of hair that nobody else has and that could be your bread and butter.
