Summer Wig Wearing Tips: How To Avoid the Scalp Sweat Under a Wig?
When summer temperatures rise, the heat quickly becomes oppressive. Unless you are in an air-conditioned area, wearing a wig in these conditions can be a pain. But rest assured, solutions exist to keep freshness under your wig! And thus avoid heatstroke in times of furnace.
How To Avoid the Scalp Sweat Under a Wig?
When choosing a wig, you should always consider how long you have to or want to wear it. You should also answer the question of whether it is needed daily or only from time to time in advance. Because if you have to wear a hair replacement every day, then it is worth buying a high-quality, hand-knotted human hair wig that ventilates your scalp well. With simple, inexpensive trim outfits, such as in carnival wigs made of synthetic hair, your scalp could quickly sweat, especially if the temperatures rise outside or you want to exercise.
If you have long hair and wear hair replacement as a fashionable second hairstyle, then it can also happen that you can sweat with high-quality second hair in summer. Mostly, however, only if you are generally so predisposed that you sweat quickly.
1. Choose a wig with a shortcut to avoid heat stroke
Long-haired wigs are comfortable to wear in cold and temperate weather. But when it's hot, their capillary volumes can lead to slight overheating. Short wigs are more suitable to be worn in high temperatures. Lighter, they simply keep less warm than long wigs.
Light-colored wigs (blond, light brown, red) absorb much less heat than those with a dark shade. Turn to models whose colors are not dark.
2. Modern, high-quality wigs with monofilament elements in combination with mono tulle
High-quality hair replacement made of human hair or cyber hair with monofilament elements in combination with mono tulle is ideal for the summer or for sports activities where you quickly sweat. This outfit combination not only makes the second hair look very natural, but also gives it a lively lightness. You feel, similar to normal hair, how the wind brushes through the hair. In the easily visible parts of the head, the outfit is made of monofilament, while the rest is made of mono tulle. These very fine, thin tissues promote ventilation of the scalp. At the top view, the hair looks naturally grown, as it is individually knotted.
3. Avoid wigs with high hair densities in summer
After length, a second criterion to guide you in choosing a summer wig is its hair density. This mainly concerns curly wigs that often have high hair densities (160% see 200% sometimes). Such density guarantees a beautiful volume of hair but in return, these wigs are often difficult to wear when temperatures rise. For the summer, choose wigs whose density is average, that is, about 120%. This is the density of most of our wig models.
4. Hand-knotted – for good ventilation
For hand-knotted hair substitutes, very fine tulle fabric is used, which firstly allows the scalp to shine through and secondly ensures good air circulation. Due to its lightness and buoyancy, this type of second hairstyle is hardly noticeable and looks real to others.
5. Lace front approach – maximum comfort
Hand-knotted hair replacement with a lace front approach made of fine tulle lace is the finest and highest quality variant of a wig outfit. Since the tip is used especially on the sides and in the forehead, the air can circulate perfectly. For many people, these parts are precisely the places where sweat first occurs. The individually knotted hairs can be combed in any direction, as they are very well distributed in the outfit. This very good distribution is also noticeable in wind and gives a very natural feeling when he brushes through the hair.
6. Wearing a bamboo under cap will bring you freshness
The bamboo under cap is an essential fresh ally for all those who wear wigs in hot weather. Bamboo fiber keeps the cold while being very soft. Your scalp will be kept at a relatively constant temperature thanks to the thermoregulatory qualities of the bamboo cap.
Wearing an under cap also absorbs perspiration. This will be more comfortable for you while preserving your wig from the contact of sweat.
7. Combination of monofilament and tresses
If you only have to wear your wig temporarily, then you can also resort to a hair replacement whose outfit consists of tresses and monofilament. Thanks to the fine monofilament, which is incorporated in the upper head area, at the vertebra, and in the area of the crown, there is also good ventilation here. In the area of the tresses, which consist of cotton bands on which the hair is sewn, ventilation is less good, even if cotton is a breathable material. There is a big textile difference between a woven cotton band with sewn-on hair and a fine monofilament fabric in which the hair is individually knotted.
8. Insoles for wigs against sweating
If you are prone to sweating, you can also use wig inserts, which are partly made of viscose and polyester. These materials quickly wick away moisture on the outside. Viscose also has a gentle cooling effect on the skin. A wig insert must be fastened with adhesive strips and can also be worn against cold in winter. Since the insert can be adapted to any wig size, you do not have to have it tailored. It is best to ask your second hair specialist whether such an insert is necessary for your wig.
9. Take care of your scalp in summer
Finally, a sensitive scalp can make a wig uncomfortable every day and not just in summer. If you use glue to hold your wig, test it on your skin before applying it to your skull. This will help you avoid particularly unpleasant hypoallergic reactions.
In the evening, after wearing your wig, moisturize and nourish your scalp with vegetable oils and essential oils. If your scalp is sensitive, protective care will be beneficial to protect it from small scratches and wounds. When it is hot, in contact with sweat these scratches can itch and make wearing your wig particularly unpleasant.
Be aware that heavy exposure to the sun can damage the fibers of your wig. The color becomes duller and loses its luster. So stay in the shade as much as possible or wear a hat or scarf if you expose yourself to the sun's rays. This will protect the fibers from UV rays. As the heat leads to increased sweating, you will need to wash your wig more frequently in summer than in other seasons.
Finally, after drying it, store your wig in a dry, cool place and especially protect from the sun!
