Whether crown braid, Gretchen braid, or herringbone braid, with a braided hairstyle hair can be wonderfully set in the scene.
Tools you need for a braided hairstyle:
l Wig brush for smoothing
l Handle comb for parting the hair
l hair ties
l Hairpins
l Hairspray for human hair wigs
Preparation For Braiding Your Human Hair Wig
Before you start braiding, comb out your wig well with a wig brush. To do this, place it on a Styrofoam head and start combing it out at the ends of the hair. Work your way up, strand by strand, from the tips to the roots. Hold the hairline tightly so that you do not pull out any hair. Once the wig is well combed, put it on as usual and only then start braiding the hairstyle. Be careful with your wig when doing this.
Simple braid (the basis for many other creations)
l Divide the hair into three equal sections.
l Now pick up the right strand and place it over the middle strand. This turns the right strand into the middle strand.
l Hold the strand of hair with your thumb.
l Now place the left strand over the middle strand.
l Repeat steps 1 to 4 all the way to the ends of the hair as long as the hair length allows.
l Finally, tie the end of the braid with a hair tie.
Our tip: Use a colorful hair tie that will beautifully accentuate your simple braided pigtail. The simple braid can also be braided as a side braid so that it falls loosely over the shoulder.
Peasant braid (French braid)
1. Comb hair well to the back.
2. Pick up the top section of hair and divide it into three equal strands.
3. Start a simple braid.
4. In the second braiding pass, pick up more hair from one side of the head into the outer strand and place together over the middle.
5. Do the process again with the other side.
6. Continue steps 1 through 5 until all hair is worked into the farmer's braid all the way to the nape of the neck.
7. Braid the three remaining strands into a plait and tie the end with a colorful hair tie.
Our tip: To make the braid stand out even more, you can also weave in a colored ribbon.
Gretchen braid
This braided pigtail is a very special hairstyle, which is also gladly celebrated on the catwalks of the fashion world.
1. First, part your hair in the middle.
2. To the right and left of the parting, braid simple braids.
3. Secure both braids at their ends with a hair tie.
4. Place the left braid over the head and pin it on the right side of the head with a bobby pin.
5. Now place the right braid over the head and secure it on the left side of the head with a hairpin.
Our tip: To make it look even more festive, you can decorate the Gretchen braid with pearls or flowers, for example, for a wine festival in the country or for Oktoberfest.
Waterfall braid
The noble braid can be created perfectly in long hair wigs. In preparation for the braid, divide a thicker base strand from the side of the hair, but lying close to the forehead. Then divide the strand into three sections and braid the first piece into a simple braid.
Now the braid is worked in the waterfall technique:
1. In the beginning, simply let the lower of the three strands fall out of the base braid.
2. Pick up a new strand from the remaining hair from the immediate vicinity of the dropped strand.
3. Now braid this strand into the braid until the current top strand is at the bottom. Simply let this strand fall.
4. Now start again from the beginning and perform steps 1 to 4 until the waterfall braid has reached the middle of the back of the head.
Our tip: A beautiful variation results if you braid the waterfall braid on both sides and then work it into a single braid at the back of your head. However, you can also simply tie the braid at the nape of the neck.
Lace Braid
This braid variation lies around your head like a hair band and can be braided completely horizontally or slightly diagonally. It is very similar to the waterfall braid.
1. First, part your hair and start with a French braid.
2. When doing this, always add some hair to the strands on one side from the top.
3. Braid the entire braid around the head, on both sides.
4. Either pin the remaining hair with a bobby pin or braid it down.
Herringbone braid (spike braid)
1. Place hair loosely over the shoulder at the beginning.
2. Now divide the hair into two sections of equal thickness, creating two smooth braids.
3. Start behind the ears and grab the outer strand from one braid and add it to the other braid.
4. From the other braid, also grab the outer strand and add it to the first braid.
5. Now alternately add the outer strands from the left and from the right to the other braid.
6. After the desired length, fix the resulting herringbone braid with a hair tie.
Crown braid
1. Part the hair in the middle and divide it into two sections. Pin one section of hair first so that it does not interfere with braiding.
2. Divide the loose section of hair at the nape into three strands.
3. Now braid an inverted French braid by crossing the strands under each other and not over each other.
4. Work the braid around one side of the head and secure the end with a hair tie.
5. Now braid the other side around the head and secure the end with a hair tie.
6. Finally, superimpose both braids to form a "crown" and pin them with hairpins.
All braided hairstyles get a little hairspray for human hair wigs to finish.
