  3. Pick up the small section of hair from the outside of the left strand and cross it over and add it to the right strand.

  4. You’d better take your index finger and thumb, pinch the hair where it crosses to lock the hair into place. That way you can let go with the other hand while grabbing some new hair.

French Rope Braid

  1. The first thing is to split your hair into two sections down the back of your hair. Then clip one side up with a hair clip.

  2. Take a small section of hair at the top, split the hair into two equal sections, twist both of the strands towards your face a couple of times.

  3. Take a bottom strand and cross it over the top strand, so they place. Hold both of the strands in one hand, then grab a new section of hair on the same side as the top strand.

  4. Add the new hair to the top strand, the twist the strand a couple of times to twist the new hair into the strand. Do the same thing on the other side and repeat it.

  5. When there’s no more hair to add in, braid the rest of the hair like a basic rope braid. Which means twist both of the strands, towards your face. Wrap them around each other in the other direction.

  6. When you get to the end of the braid, secure the braid with an elastic. Now you just repeat everything on the other side.

Dutch Braid

  1. Split your hair into two sections down the back of your head, clip one side of the hair up, so it’s not in your way when you have to braid.

  2. Take a small section of hair, looks kind of triangle, split that into 3 sections like a normal braid. In the normal braid and french braid, you cross the hair over. But in a dutch braid, you cross the hear under instead.

  3. Take the outer strand on the other side and cross that under into the middle. Now cross the strand on the other side under into the middle and then add some hair. That makes the braid into the dutch braid.

  4. You are going to do the same thing on the other side, take the outer strand and cross it under into the middle, add in some hair. Those are the steps to a dutch braid. All you have to do is to repeat until there’s no more hair to add in.

  5. If you did a braid on each side, just have to repeat the steps on each side.
