Step 1 - Determine Your Skin Tone
The key to looking at your best most vibrant beautiful-looking self is by choosing the right colors for yourself. Begin with skin, there are three undertones that exist. On the two extremes, we have warm-toned and cool-toned, and the third one would be in between as neutral. Figuring out your skin tone can be a little bit tricky because of tens our skin color can change based on how much time we spend in the sun. If you sunburn easily, you may have cool-toned skin. Some other good indicators of having cool-toned skin would be that against a white sheet of paper, your skin can look very red, pink, or even blue. On the other hand, if you tan really well that's a good sign that you have a warm undertone to your skin. Against the white sheet of paper if your skin looks almost yellowish and golden then that would tell you that you are warm.
If you have very white and pale skin, you may want to stick to lighter shades of color more of the blonde ranges. Because this will look more natural on you and it won't make you look as pale. Whereas on darker shades of skin you can pull off black hair any shade of brown and even different reds. If you are with medium tone skin, you can go really light with blonde, you can go really dark with black. If you have neutral skin, you can have more options with your hair.

If you were a redhead and you still are a redhead or at least you were throughout your high school and most of your life, you're still considered in the r category. Hair color in the r category can range from a strawberry blonde to a copper, to a bright auburn red.
