The Best Fake Scalp Methods To Hide Your Wig Lace - The Wig Cap Lace Wigs Method
Take a look at how the wig looks when you first get it, the lace looks gritty and not natural like a scalp, it needs to be covered up. When the wig is applied, the lace does not look natural at all, you will even see the separation from the wig cap. When you receive a wig fresh out of the box, you have to bleach the nets, which is a perfect starting point. And a few things you will need for this tutorial are a wig cap, get one that matches your scalp color, a pair of sharp scissors, you also need some thread, and also a needle to sew with. You can use a sewing needle that is for hair, you will also need some loose powder that matches your scalp color and a makeup brush that you don't use anymore.
First, take a wig cap and remove the bulkiness of the cap by cutting the cap straight down the middle to elongate it and make it a little bit more longer. Now take your scissors and remove the stretchy part of the cap. This part of the cap usually is the one that shows through the lace badly. So cut that part right on-off. The next process is best to work on a wig head or a foam head. Take the wig cap that you cut and place it over top of the front part of the lace. Cover the whole front and leave it a little bit uncovered. Then stretching the cap to make sure it's nice and tight. Pin it with wig pins to secure it, for now, stretching out the cap a little bit more, pull it, and begin to sew that cap right on the edge, not on the lace, but right on the edge of the comb. The reason why applying this over top of the lace is that this will hide the grits and act as a scalp under the wig. Also, sewing it right on that little tab right underneath the wig cap, but not sewing on the lace at all, only doing one or two stitches and then cutting it off and moving on. Repeat the same thing on the other side, make sure that when you put that wig cap to the other side, you pull it a little bit tight, so that it's no looseness on the cap. Make sure the cap that you're using is your scalp color. Add a stitch at the top of the cap so that it won't roll down. Cut off the extra cap that you don’t need. At the front right on the sides of the lace, but one stitch on each side. If the cap is rolling from the front, place the cap and the wig back on the foam head for further operation. If you see any separation on the hairline, take the loose powder that matches your scalp color, dip the brush in a little bit of water to get it nice and moist, and make the pigment of the powder a little bit more intense, applying the powder down the parts and anywhere that the lace is going to show separation from the cap.
For most people, wearing caps can be uncomfortable, it can be hot in the summertime. Sewing your cap on the lace itself can make it a lot more breathable. The elastic that we cut off when you wear a wig cap is usually hard to cover with just concealer or powder. So cut it off and make it a lot easier for you to blend everything.
Going back to the part where we have the cap that's rolling from the front: pull the wig cap down to the front of the lace, close to the front of the cap but not down, because you don't want it to be too far down because then you will see a separation. Leave just a little bit of lace, apply glue over top. This is going to temporarily hold this in place, dry it with a dryer and this gel does wash off, so when you do wash your wig it will wash away. And don’t worry about getting messy with the glue, if you happen to have that problem, just take an alcohol pad that can get all the flakes out of your hairline, and take some more powder and cover it up again. And now it’s all done!
